How long can a person remain in freezing water?
Q. As a punishment for forgetting to place ice cubes in my gin earlier today, I intend to punish my wife to teach her a lesson. I will see if she can remain in a barrel of icy water until the weekend, my servants will of course refresh the ice periodically. If she fails, by which she gives up or gets out, I shall therein forbid her from living at the manor, and she will have to spend the rest of her life as a wandering vagrant. From a physiological point of view, what are her chances?

A. You can show her a picture you've found, it's not a big deal :) trust me, my mothers a hairdresser, she gets millions of people that show her pictures. She actually likes seeing someone rather than having it explained to her. :) Gives them something to refer too. Good luck, though. :)

What is the easiest way to determine weight percentage without a total weight?
Q. For example, say you want to make a mix of 85% flour and 15% baking soda by weight, but you only have 60 grams of flour at the house. How do you determine the weight needed of baking soda to ensure flour makes up 85% of the mixture? Feel free to explain how this works. Please give me a formula because I m hoping not to have to do extensive math in the kitchen. Thanks! -AnonymousQuote

Has there been a conscious effort in sports media to refer to course names?
Q. I have watched ESPN and Sportscenter consistently for over a decade now, but I feel like I have heard the word "Turnberry" more in the last week than I have in all of my life combined. The same can be said a few weeks earlier when they consistently referred to "Bethpage Black." Has anyone else noticed this? It seems like they are making a concerted effort to refer to course names as opposed to simply referring to the British Open/US Open.

What is a good topic for a simple thesis?
Q. Our teacher in this subject is asking us to formulate one and defend it by the end of the school year. Basically we have 6 months to prepare for this. We really can't graduate without this as stated in the law. Anyway, we haven't got a clue on what to write about. Our teacher says the problem must be within the school. So we thought of student behaviors and factors that affect their academic performances. It could be something psychological because we think we are narrowing down our ideas when we could have better. Anything is much appreciated and thank you in advance.

A. It can mean different things on different cars. It probably just isn't running at maximum efficiency. Someone like Midas can check that out for you, if you don't want to take it to a dealer. You can still drive on it though.

How Can I Get Past A Weight Loss Plateu?
Q. I've lost about fifty pounds in six months but I think I've come to a screeching halt! I can barely lose a pound even though I haven't changed anything. A. Have no fear weight loss plateaus are very common, especially when you get down to the last 10 or 20 pounds. I know you said your weight loss came to a screeching halt and you haven t changed anything, but that may be the problem right there. It s really important to mix things up with your diet and exercise routine when you re trying to lose weight. The human body is amazing in the sense that it adapts very quickly, so it s not surprising that what may have worked six months ago isn t working for you anymore. Here are some suggestions to kick your weight loss back into gear: - Stop eating at least 3 hours before you go to bed. - Change up your workouts. The body adjusts quickly to physical activity. can a probation officer release information about a case that was public record?
Q. I need some information on someone, I have a lot of information, but somethings just dont add up. I dont think I am getting the full story, I am thinking of helping out a friend with court costs on loan, of course, but I want to check the story to see if anything is being left out. How do I run an if statement with a char input?
Q. For example I want the user to input either A, B, or C. I then want my method to execute based on which of those letters were entered. What do I put in the if statement to get it to work? I understand the Scanner object and all that basic stuff. I just want to know what is the proper syntax to get an if statement to work with a single char if possible. Thank you.
Asked by omegajb24 - Thu Jul 9 22:37:20 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. If I'm not mistaken, you're using Java, right? (just to make sure I didn't talk different 'language') since you have the Scanner object. After you import the Scanner object, we then define a variable to store the user input, since you only want to 'catch' one character, I suggest "CHAR" is the best variablel type since it's small then we store the user's response on that variable. Therefore, we can do you intend to do. === import java.lang.* ; //for the 'equalsIgnoreCase' comparison import java.util.Scanner.*; public class void ClassName(){ char c; Scanner input= new Scanner(); char = input.nextChar(); //you can use either 'switch...case' or 'if..else' //let's just if if(c.equalsIgnoreCase('A' )) { //some codes } else if(c.equalsIgn [cont.]

A. I'm starting my LPN program next semester. When I decided I wanted to go into the medical field, I applied for simple office jobs, and landed one as a medical receptionist for an Oncologist. while it doesn't seem like that great of a job, I've been learning the numeric codes for cancers and blood disorders, short handed abbreviations and medical terminology doctors use, and lots of other neat things about the medical industry. It would help wit the general feel of being around sick and dying patients. I suggest going to yahoo! Hotjobs and just seeing whats open. Also, you can apply for local hospitals in their HR departments, or on their websites. Another good idea would be to get a phlebotomy license, which takes anywhere from 3-8 months,… [cont.]
