A. I think that Dreamhost is much better. 1and1 has awful customer service. Price vise they're pretty close, although you can use a promo code PLUS with Dreamhost during sign up and get the $50 discount +2 Free domain names. It's a much better deal than similar 1and1 plans.

A. You used the word historical three times, and misspelled it twice. Strange. Better make sure you don't do that on your actual site or it'll be hard to take it seriously. The subject of your site doesn't matter much. You can have it hosted by any hosting company.

Q. I want to start and internet radio station and a lot of hosting companies do not host streaming audio. I went to one that did and found that their customer service lacks tact and patience. I have never tried anything like this before and the program I want to use for the streaming audio needs 50 GB bandwidth. I was able to find the registrar in which the domain name was registered, but no information about where the website is being accessed from. A. Differences will arise when it comes to applications that you're going to use on the server to support your web site. If you plan to rely on open-source PHP or Perl-based systems, go with Linux. Also, if you plan to send e-mails from your scripts, it is much easier to do that from Unix too. In general, unless you have some Windows-specific application or technology that is going to support your web site, there are really no good reasons not to prefer Linux. Linux is much more reliable and secure than Windows.
