I want to start going tanning at a tanning bed a month or so before I go on vacation, what should the time intervals be? Should I wear sun screen or tanning oil/lotion? Stand up one or the bed? I really want to avoid getting a burn. Any tips. This would also be my first time going tanning in a tanning place.. Also, what should I expect the first time? Is there going to be any change in my skin color? Also, don't recommend spray tans. Asked by Hiiiii - Wed Mar 4 19:20:45 2009 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments A. First, you need to know what type of bed/booth your using. There are certain "levels" of tanning. Also, the lamps are different as well. UVA is more bronzing and penetrates the skin more, resulting in a darker tan. These rays are also said to cause wrinkles faster. UVB is kind of like the sun, you may get red easier in these. Tanning lotion helps ALOT to gain color, but it gains no sunscreen whatsoever. So if your face burns easy, put sunscreen on your face. Start out with low times, each bed/booth has different maximum time limits. Depending on how easy you tan or burn, that's how you decide the time intervals. The booths generally will give you NO tan lines, as long as you hold your arms in the air (your armpits will be WHITE if you don't [cont.] Answered by Lindsey F - Wed Mar 4 19:28:55 2009 How do I find intervals using this method? Q. My teacher found intervals for the problem 6x^(3)(x-1)^(2)-12x^(2)(x -1)<0 as x=0,1, -1, 2. She drew a number line and put + and - signs between the numbers indicating positives and negatives. She was looking for "negative intervals." Can someone please explain this and how to do it and why? Asked by Azriel - Fri Nov 7 18:48:20 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. Give the function a name: f(x) = 6x (x-1) - 12x (x-1) You can simplify f(x) quite a bit by factoring it: f(x) = 6x (x-1) [ x(x-1) - 2 ] f(x) = 6x (x-1) [ x - x - 2 ] f(x) = 6x (x-1) [ (x-2)(x+1) ] f(x) = 6 (x+1) x (x-1) (x-2) A function like this, which is a polynomial, has several places where it crosses the axis. It spends some time positive, then crosses and becomes negative, then crosses back to become positive again. So you take the number line and put marks on it wherever the function could switch from + to -. Those places are just the zeroes of the function. They are -1, 0, 1, and 2. First, think of it with a picture: Does it make sense now what we're looking for? The places where the function is negative have to sit… [cont.] Answered by cheeser1 - Fri Nov 7 19:20:28 2008 Long Distance in the morning and intervals in the evening?
Q. Is it beneficial (for weight loss) to do the following two exercises in each day? Morning: LSD (5 miles, with some hills) Evening: Intervals (Mile, half-mile, lap, half-lap, 100 m, running up and down stadium sections - with recovery's in between each). I know its never bad to exercise, but would doing LSD in the morning and intervals in the evening possibly injure me, or something else? Asked by Joey R - Sat Jul 4 23:26:35 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. Nah, that exercise will definitely put in excellent shape. Good luck with it. Those intervals will wear you out.
