Like a set, it contains members (also called elements or terms), and the number of terms (possibly infinite) is called the length of the sequence. Unlike a set, order matters, and the exact same elements can appear multiple times at different positions in the sequence. For example, (C, R, Y) is a sequence of letters that differs from (Y, C, R), as the ordering matters. Sequences can be finite, as in this example, or infinite, such as the sequence of all even positive integers (2, 4, 6,...). Finite sequences are sometimes known as strings or words, and infinite sequences as streams. The empty sequence () is included in most notions of sequence, but may be excluded depending on the context. An infinite sequence of real numbers (in blue). This sequence is neither increasing, nor decreasing, nor convergent, nor Cauchy. It is bounded, however. From Wikipedia under the
GNU Free Documentation License How do you shoot a good sequence photo? Q. I want to shoot a sequence photo of my friend skateboarding. I was wondering if someone could give me tips on angles and stuff. Should I move the camera while it's shooting or keep it still? Asked by Andrew W - Fri Sep 25 16:42:55 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. If you're shooting with an DSLR set your camera's drive mode to "Burst Mode" allowing it to take multiple shots per second. Try panning left and right... keeping the subject in the center of the frame. Lower angles are usually preferred. For most extreme sport photos a wide lens is often used. Setting the focus and exposure manually beforehand is helpful so your camera is ready to take the shot. Look through other skateboarding photos to get some ideas. Answered by Alex Campos - Sun Sep 27 18:03:44 2009 Why is it unwise to use only one particular DNA sequence as a probe for isolating a gene? Q. the AA sequence is known, and you find a sequence in particular that can encode for the protein. Why is it not a good idea to only use this sequence as the probe for isolating the gene responsible for encoding the protein of interest from a DNA library? Asked by o11o - Fri Nov 6 00:58:55 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. Because there is more than one way to go from a protein sequence to a DNA sequence. There are several codons, the sequence of triplets bases in the DNA code, that can code for different amino acids. That is why the DNA code is referred to as degenerate. Using a codon bias table can be helpful, but in general you need to take into account the other possible ways of coding for the particular protein framgment of interest.
